Minnesota Regulation for Drug Descriptions on Rx Labels in Effect

Like Oregon and Wyoming, Minnesota now requires drug descriptions on all prescription labels (or auxiliary labels). This regulation came into effect July 2008. Oregon enacted this requirement in 2000, and Wyoming was next to follow in 2004.

ScriptPro Ready for D.0: Congress Mandates New Regulations to Claims Billing


ScriptPro’s SP Central Pharmacy Management System will be ready to help you with new regulations that are mandated by 2009 Congressional modifications to HIPAA.

On January 1, 2012, all pharmacies must upgrade their electronic claims billing transaction standard from NCPDP Version 5.1 to Version D.0.

What does this mean to you? Your pharmacy management system must be in compliance with new functionality for the following transactions:

  • Claims (healthcare claims or equivalent encounter information transactions)
  • Eligibility Inquiries (eligibility for a health plan transaction)
  • Prior Authorization Requests (referral certification and authorization transactions)
  • Coordination of Benefits (coordination of benefits information transactions)
