In 1999, Broadlawns Medical Center Outpatient Pharmacy had high turnover in the pharmacy technician staff, according to then Director, Sharon Meyer. Also, the high volume of scripts was burning out the remaining staff. Carol Fry, Outpatient Supervisor, said “... pharmacists would come in to work in the morning with tons of work piled up to do before we could even start the day. Some days we didn’t look forward to coming in.”

Even though our prescription volume increased, there was less stress on our staff.”
