“I lost a pharmacist and a tech at the same time and wasn’t sure what my manpower would be
for the future. The tech told me the pressure of working in retail was too stressful. I’m in a small
town competing with three chain stores and needed help. So a friend invited me to look at the
SP 200 he had at his store.
“I noticed immediately that the SP 200 would give me the ability to adequately staff the store,
even at times when I am by myself. It’s a time-saving device for the pharmacist—who is still
involved by performing the final check. The error reduction and risk management features are
very important.
“The SP 200 gives me flexibility because when a patient calls at
night, I can enter prescriptions from my home and when I get to
the store they are already filled.
“I lease the SP 200 through my bank and will own it after five
years. In five years my SP 200 will still be a good employee and
will continue to serve our needs for many years to come. But
my employment costs will go way down.
“Any pharmacist that owns a store understands that you spend
more time at work than with your family. If there are things I
can do to improve the workplace—make it more enjoyable, less
stressful—I’m going to do it. Before I got the SP 200 I was ready
to retire and now I’m not so ready. The SP 200 has allowed me
to continue to enjoy my profession.”
