IAPS Helps Independent Pharmacies Avoid Deep Reimbursement Cuts
Mike Coughlin, CEO of ScriptPro, and I attended the Twenty-Seventh Annual Meeting and Gala Dinner for the Indo-American Pharmaceutical Society (IAPS) this past May. One of the highlights at the awards ceremony was the fact that IAPS recently worked collectively with many other societies, including PSSNY and NYCPS, to win a battle against the NYS Health Department to keep Medicaid pharmacy reimbursements at the same level. It is estimated that through their efforts they have helped save independent pharmacies approximately $80 million dollars by avoiding deeper cuts to reimbursements. We are incredibly impressed by the strength of this organization and the hard work they are doing for independent pharmacies in the tri-state area and beyond.
The event was attended by many state board members, representatives from local universities, and even the Consul General from India who gave a moving speech about the historic new elections that recently took place in India. ScriptPro is proud to sponsor the IAPS CE Program and we look forward to helping IAPS members find the best technology to help their businesses grow and become more profitable so they can continue to offer the highest levels of service to their customers.
