Streamlining Will Call, Clinical Services Documentation

Pharmacies today face increasing prescription volumes while also being called on to provide specialty clinical services. A recent Drug Store News article highlights two forthcoming ScriptPro solutions that will help ease common pain points that come with increased script volume as well as the steady stream of paperwork from clinical services.

ScriptPro Storage and Retrieval System

ScriptPro CEO Mike Coughlin saw the need to solve these challenges by developing the Storage and Retrieval System (SRS), which is expected to launch in 2017. “Our approach is to design an automated will call system that allows the bags to be stored routinely as they’re filled, and then they can be dispensed to the service line staff that are serving the patients or to a kiosk for a patient who wants to pick them up without waiting in line…or even at a drive-up window,” said Coughlin.

ScriptPro Advanced Pharmacy Clinical Services

ScriptPro also is developing an Advanced Pharmacy Clinical Services (APCS) tool to help pharmacies manage documentation in various forms and pull together patient health records from multiple sources.

According to Coughlin, “Our system will enable specialty pharmacies to build programs that combine pharmacy patient, dispensing data, and clinical program documentation.”

Other uses for APCS include medication therapy management and pharmacist prescribing. Read the Full Article on Drug Store News online. You will need to create an account to access DSN’s September 2016 issue.
